There is something so lovely about photographing a family in a place where everyone has room to relax and enjoy being together. Nikki and Todd’s engagement session at Pegasus Beach was a beautiful opportunity to do just that, with Jameson and Rosalie joining them for an afternoon by the sea.

When we began planning their session, Nikki asked whether they could bring their children along, and I was so happy to say yes! With their wedding at The Vines Club coming up, this was a chance to celebrate this special chapter for all four of them. It was also lovely to finally meet everyone and get to know them before the big day.

We met at Pegasus Beach on a wintry afternoon. The open space and beautiful coastal surroundings made it such a lovely location for their photographs, with plenty of variety and room for the children to be themselves. Jameson and Rosalie did brilliantly, and I loved capturing the four of them together.

My favourite part of photographing sessions like this is giving everyone time to settle in and feel comfortable. There is no need for children to sit perfectly still or for every photograph to be carefully posed. The little interactions, shared smiles, and moments of connection are such an important part of telling a family’s story.

After receiving their gallery, Nikki sent me the loveliest message, saying how much it meant to have family photographs she truly loved. She also said that she had felt so comfortable, as though we had known each other for ages. Hearing that means so much to me. I want the experience of having photographs taken to feel just as lovely as looking back through them afterwards.

Nikki and Todd, thank you so much for trusting me to capture these memories with Jameson and Rosalie. It was a real pleasure spending the afternoon with your gorgeous family, I can’t wait to see you on Saturday!
