An elopement on the blog at last! I absolutely love being part of elopements.  Jaimee and Carl flew from Queensland to Christchurch to tie the knot. They chose to marry on the verandah of Merivale Manor, a beautifully preserved and restored building built in 1882. Their wedding date was specially chosen – not only as Carl’s birthday but also the date of his grandparent’s wedding anniversary.  They brought some photos of his grandparents which incorporated into their morning.

Carl and Jaimee were joined by Jaimee’s sister and friend as witnesses, and their fabulous celebrant Annette Farquhar lead them through a beautiful ceremony. After the formalities we visited Pegasus Bay Winery for lunch and wine tasting. It was delicious! After lunch we visited Christchurch city and the botanical gardens for a bit of sightseeing. We topped the day off with desserts at Strawberry Fare. One of the bonuses of having an elopement is that the honeymoon is a continuation of the day! Jaimee and Carl followed their nuptials with a sightseeing trip around the South Island.
