Last Friday my sweet niece Lucy dropped in with my brother Matt and his fiancée Imogen. With the morning light pouring through the windows we had a lovely relaxed morning and took a few photos to capture Lucy as a newborn. Lucy was wide awake and taking everything in – bright eyes following the light, her tiny hands curling around our fingers. She was happy just to be held and fed. Bella and I are completely smitten and Bella was more than happy to take a few photos with her little cousin.

We kept things simple, letting the session unfold naturally. Soft neutral tones, cosy textures, and plenty of space for cuddles and connection. No pressure – just a slice of unhurried time to take a few photos amidst the busyness of life. These are my favourite kinds of sessions: when the light is kind and love shows up in the smallest gestures. A sleepy stretch, a shared smile, the way a parent looks at their child and forgets the camera is even there.

That’s what I hope to give families through my photography – images that remind you of how calm and connected it can feel in the best moments.
